The aim of the project is to promote cultural heritage tourism in the programme area by restoring facilities and developing cross-border tourism solutions with the greatest potential for increasing the number of tourists and visitors, and to develop a catalogue of real estate in Daugavpils Fortress, serving as an informative material for potential investors to promote tourism and business in Daugavpils.

Daugavpils Fortress is an urban planning and architecture monument of state significance; the last bastion-type fortification built in the world. There are more than 80 buildings in the main part of the fortress, or in the citadel, and most of them are directly owned by SJSC “State Real Estate”. This is why it is important for us to implement projects in cooperation with “State Real Estate”, involving these state institutions in the activities of the preservation and development of the fortress.
