The aim of the project is to restore and arrange an architectural monument of national significance - a building at Brīvības iela 72. The house is currently used as an office and commercial building.

It is planned to renovate the facade of the building, restore the windows, replace the roof covering and strengthen the roof structures, waterproof the base and arrange the lightning protection.

An arranged architectural monument of national significance will improve the urban environment and create a pleasant environment for the visitors of the building and those working there.

The project of renovating the facade, windows and roof of the building used by the Ministry of Health at Brīvības iela 72 K-1, Riga, organised by SRE, is not only a significant event for the employees of the Ministry. It also symbolically continues the stage of reconstruction of public customer buildings on Brīvības iela started by SRE - starting with Tetera House, the building of the Ministry of Economics, Sakta House, as well as the Cabinet of Ministers building complex. To work in the building with a new, ruined facade is like putting on a white shirt - it always makes you feel more solemn and confident. We wish for the employees of the Ministry of Health to wait patiently for the moment when the scaffolding will be removed from the building, and the beautiful house will shine in all its majesty.

Andrejs Milzarājs, the head of SRE.

History of the building

The building at Brīvības iela 72 was built in 1909 according to the project of architect M. fon Ozmidofs as a rental house with shops. The house is an example of “stately Art Nouveau” and is located in the territory of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site “Historical centre of Riga” and the urban planning monument of national significance “Historical centre of Riga City”.
